Must Have Baby Items For Baby Number Two
It’s amazing how quickly baby products change isn’t it? I mean I only had Lilly 3 years ago and already there are the newest and coolest products out there that I only wish I had had with Lilly. As we await the arrival of baby number two, and with my constant scrolling of Instagram I have come across so many cool new gadgets, small businesses, and adorable baby items that I just had to do a roundup post for you to share them all. I wanted to give you all a wide variety of options, things you may know about but that I found from small shops, some big ticket items, and some small companies that I’ve found too..
So without further ado, let's dive into my list of the Must Have Baby Items For Baby Number Two!
Bloomlife Contraction Monitor: This is one of the big ticket items I was talking about, but it is a complete game changer for me. As of this post going live I have been using the Bloomlife for 3 weeks, and it has given me so much insight into what is happening with my body, and has helped me become more in tune with what can be a very uncertain thing… Braxton Hicks. With Lilly I didn’t have any Braxton Hicks, and now I’m having them on a regular basis, which can be uncomfortable but also concerning. The uncertainty of it all can cause some anxiety so having a monitor to help guide you is wonderful. I wear the monitor for an hour and it tracks my contractions, and general uterine activity. It displays all the information on a chart on your phone, telling you how long the contractions were, how far apart they are, and any patterns they may have. Bloomlife helps you learn what is normal for you instead of guessing and worrying. I plan on utilizing this up until the last minute to ensure that I can stay at home as long as possible, instead of pacing the hallways of the hospital like I did with Lilly. The best part about this lovely gadget to me is that you use the monitor for as long as you like during your pregnancy, and then return it to the company when you’re done with it! They’re refurbished and sent to another mommy-to-be.
The Willow Pump: Okay, so this one is the ultimate necessity for pumping with second baby. Being tied up to a cord and tube overloaded pump when you have a new baby and a toddler running around is just just not realistic. You’re going to need your hands free at all times and also, when are you going to have a minute to just sit and pump!? Never. Enter the cordless breast pump that you can wear in your bra and go about your daily life! Yes you read that right. This breast pump works with no cords, no tubes, and is a hands-free discreet way to pump and go about your day. Enough said.
Luna Lullaby Nursing Pillow: With Lilly I had the traditional boppy nursing pillow which worked fine, but could be a little hindering when needing to move during a nursing session, not to mention it wasn’t comfortable for me, and hard to maneuver. This time around I have the Luna Lullaby nursing pillow, a softer, more comfortable nursing pillow that forms to your body more easily and more comfortably. It also doubles as a lounger pillow for baby which is a win! I chose the super soft Pink Dot cover and it’s so beautiful, but there are so many other cover options that are easily washable and removable.
Snuggle Me Organic: This is one of those smaller shop products that I am so excited to have found and I cannot wait to have for baby. Snuggle Me Organic is a baby lounger designed to hug baby. With padded sides and an unpadded center, baby can lay on the lounger and feel snuggled and comforted. These are all made from organic materials and are made here in the United States. You can purchase different colored covers and they are the softest material you’ve ever felt. I want one for my adult self!
Fawn Design Diaper Bag and Insert: I went through three different diaper bags with Lilly and they all fell short until I found our Fawn Design bag. I still have the gray one I used for Lilly and it held up so well that it is in perfect condition and will be used for baby as well. They’re made of high quality leather, and are so pretty that you won’t feel like you’re carrying anything but a designer purse. There are pockets for bottle, snacks, diapers and there is also an available insert that I bought this time around too. These bags are big enough to hold all the supplies needed for baby and toddler, which is such a bonus once second baby gets here.
Moses Basket: These are definitely not a new invention, seeing as both my husband and I slept in one when we were babies. But they’re definitely back in fashion and on trend, so what kind of blogger/instagram influencer would I be if I didn’t get one? But I’m also going to put it to good use, and hold my Snuggle Me in the basket while the crazy toddler is running around the house. You can find many handmade, high priced baskets on places like Etsy, but you can also go the less expensive route like this one.
Sakura Bloom Scout: Give me all the hands free there is when baby gets here because Lil surely isn’t going to slow down, or stop needing water, or snacks, or needing mommy to play with her. Dinner still needs to be made, and dishes still need to be done. All of those things can’t be done without hands, which brings me to the baby carrier I’ve chosen this time around, the Sakura Bloom Scout carrier, a small company from California hand makes these beauties and I cannot wait to use mine. Last time I tried several carriers and all were too cumbersome, to bulky, to hard to maneuver in. These carriers are lightweight, barely there, and easy to wear making baby wearing even more accessible to busy mamas.
Embe Baby Swaddles: I am a HUGE fan of velcro swaddles, that was all I used for Lil. I was never able to wrap a swaddle blanket tight enough, she always got out of it. So velcro swaddles were always my go to. This time around I found this small company that makes legs in/legs out swaddles in adorable patterns. The company was started by a mom of 4 so you can trust that the comfort of baby, and ease for mom are the number one concern for this company.
Little Miss Dessa Knotted Baby Gown: Baby needs a cute outfit to enter the world in right? Enter this adorable small shop I found that makes the softest, sweetest knotted baby gowns you ever did see. This shop is owned and operated by a single mother of 4, who started the company after suffering the loss of one of her twin daughters who was born at 23 weeks. Every piece is handmade, just adding the the love of purchasing from a shop with a story like this. Not only do they have lovely clothes they have hats, swaddles, and these adorable name tags to introduce baby.
So there you have it, my round up of must have items for second baby. Do you have any of these products? If so what are your favorites, or what products do you love that might not be mentioned?
