Christmas Cookie Roundup
Christmas time, the time for carols, lights, decorated trees, presents, food, and cookies… lots of cookies. I’m one of those people that loves to bake cookies and hand them out, at the time I mostly think I’m insane because it looks like my kitchen exploded and I spend an entire day doing it. But I still enjoy it, plus I get to eat some of them too! I try and make some new ones every year, just to mix it up. Since I wasn’t blogging around this time last year I thought I’d start a tradition of doing a Cookie Round Up! Sharing with you my favorites and the cookies I plan to make! Ready? Okay, me too!
These cookies are my FAVORITE and I crave them around this time every year, Something about the raspberry jam and the almond flavoring! Raspberry Almond Shortbread cookies from Saving Dessert, and as complicated as they look, they’re really easy to make!
These are a tradition in my family, I remember my mom making these when we were little and I thought the powdered sugar was so much fun since it was so messy. I tend to try a new recipe for them every year, and inadvertently too so this year I’m trying this one from Wicked Good Kitchen, and they look fantastic don’t they?
Next we have a Three Ingredient Buttery Shortbread Cookie and they had me at buttery with this one. I am not so good at the whole sugar cookie deal, so I thought this might work better for me. I also tend t do some more complicated cookies, and like keeping it simple for at least one of them!
Onto the next one which is brand new to me and I cannot WAIT to try it! Red Velvet Cream Cheese Thumbprint cookies from Something Swanky. I have a mild obsession with thumbprint cookies and who doesn’t drool over cream cheese so these were a must try. The recipe also looks relatively easy which is another plus.
And last but not least Crockpot Candy… yes you read that right. I’m making a crockpot Christmas treat from The Slow Roasted Italian! I saw this video on Facebook and just couldn’t resist trying it, especially since I can cook these while I make the other cookies!
So now tell me all your favorite cookie recipes! Or other holiday treats you share with friends and family!
