A Christmas Home Tour
Tis that time of year, where everyone decks the halls, puts lights on trees, ribbons on banisters, and brings much magic into a home. It is also that time of year for ornaments to be shattered by little hands! I never knew how much she’d love these things! Anyway, I love decorating for Christmas, not so much the time or the lugging boxes up stairs or the mess that comes from all the glitter and the fake snow, but once it’s all up, once the trees are decorated and the house glows with lights, it’s simply beautiful. I really got into it this year because Lilly is able to appreciate it more and admire all the decorations. Last year at Christmas she was still so small, only 5 months old, nothing was very exciting then. This year we did two trees, since this is our first Christmas in the new house we decided to take advantage of the giant ceilings and the big windows in our living room and really go all out on our tree. We got a live 8-foot beauty for which I bought red, gold, and white decorations. I also added ribbon which I’ve never done before, and now can’t imagine why it took me so long to do!
We have our fake tree in the family room with the more “kiddo-related” ornaments on it. The snowmen, santas, and other ornaments from my childhood etc. and the shatter proof ones on the bottom of course! Somehow however we still have bald spots and ornaments clustered in sections thanks to two tiny little hands. I also wanted to make the fireplace a sort of fun winter wonderland so I added all my fake trees, stuffed snowmen, stuffed birds, and signs. I placed them all on some pretty white silk fabric and tried to make it look like snow, not sure how well I did though.
This is also my first Christmas with the blog! My blog-iversary is on the 29th, can’t believe it has been a year. But since it’s my first Christmas with all of you, my lovely readers, I thought I’d join in on this fun Link Up with Lindsay’s Sweet world to share my holiday decorations. I apologize in advance for how many photos there are of my main tree. But I just love it! So here you are, my Christmas home in all its glory!
Thank you to Lindsay's Sweet World for co-hosting this wonderful Linkup!
