DIY Lavender Body Wash
I’m pretty picky when it comes to body wash, I always want something that is moisturizing, has a great scent and doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky and covered in invisible gunk like some washes can do. I also really love using a loofah and exfoliating every day. I live in Colorado so the climate here is dry and our skin takes the brunt of that. I am constantly putting on lotion and fighting a never ending battle of dry skin. So when I started to look into making my own beauty products, moisturization was a big factor for me. One of the ways I love to keep my skin soft now is through oils. There are a lot of oils out there that are meant to be used on your skin: avocado, jojoba, coconut, and almond oils to name a handful. Along with being moisturizing, avocado oil is said to remove impurities in the skin and jojoba oil helps with stretchmarks. When making your own body wash you can choose whichever oil would suit your needs the most. I love making my own products, I can completely customize them to be something that is perfect for me. For this recipe I wanted something moisturizing and relaxing. I also know that Priscilla likes lavender so of course it was a perfect fit!
1 cup castile soap ( I chose a lavender scented one)
1 cup coconut milk
⅓ jojoba oil
2 tbsp vegetable glycerine
20 drops lavender essential oil
Glass bottle or recycled container
First measure out your castile soap and pour into your container.
Next you’ll add the coconut milk, I make sure that I stir mine because it can be a bit chunky out of the can.
Now add your jojoba oil and vegetable glycerin.
Top it all off with the lavender essential oil. Note that you can add as much or as little oil as you like, depending on how fragrant you like your body wash.
Now give your wash a good shake to make sure all the ingredients combine.
I use my body wash daily, either with a loofa or just in my hands. It is so cleansing and I hope you love it as much as I do!
