To The Father Of My Daughter

To my husband on your first Father’s Day,

From the moment our girl was placed in your arms you have loved her unwaveringly and fiercely. She is your pride and joy and seeing you with her fills my heart with so much love that words cannot even describe it. Words will never accurately portray how wonderful you are, how perfect you are.

You are everything I ever hoped or dreamed you would be for our daughter.

I know that everything you do, you do for her and for me. You work hard to provide for her. You follow your dreams to show her that anything is possible. You look at her with so much love in your eyes that I know she feels it every day. You hold her with your strong arms so that she knows she has a place in them when she needs it. You show her what home, love, and family is.

Since you’ve become a father and since I’ve become a mother, you’ve shown me that I can. That we can. Even on my darkest days you’ve supported me and told me it’s okay. You’ve helped me grow into the mother that I am and you have loved me through it all. You’ve helped me to become better. You’ve supported me and loved me as I walk through this ever changing scenery. As we stumble and occasionally fall through this adventure, I know that you’ll be by my side. I know that Lilly will never see a day where she doesn’t know love and strength. We may not be perfect, but we’re doing it together, and you’re doing it oh so well.

My love, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for loving us, for supporting us, and for guiding us. Thank you for always striving to be better, not just for our daughter but for you. Thank you for realizing that it takes a strong man to be a good father. Thank you for wanting to go above and beyond, because you have from the very start.

I love you, Lilly loves you. Happy Father's Day.
