A Pink and Gold Birthday Bash
As you know by now from my letter and my gushing all over Instagram, our sweet Lilly turned one last week. One people! I really don’t know how the year went so quickly. So to celebrate we invited all of our friends and family over for some food and cake to. Before I started planning this party I had no idea how swept up I would get in it. I know a lot of people scoff at throwing a 1 year old a party, let alone putting a ton of time and effort into it, but in all honesty I just love throwing parties and I love making them look pretty. Needless to say, I had a lot of fun with her birthday party.
I knew off the bat I didn’t want a “theme” per say, I’m just not that kinda person I guess. Although I’m sure I have quite a few of those in my future! So I went with colors instead. Pink and gold, the colors of her room and ya know, little girl colors. Of course I went to Pinterest for inspiration, then to Etsy. Have I told you all how much I love Etsy yet? Because I LOVE it, I spend far too much time and money on that site. I love finding small businesses and I love how what you find on Etsy, can’t be found in Target. So after a lot of time scouring and getting a good idea of what I was looking for, I found some great shops and beautiful decorations for the party.
Jamboree Party is where I found the perfect “one” balloon, tassels and so many more goodies! Cassi, the owner, is so sweet and sent me the one balloon, tassels, and a glitter one candle. I couldn’t be more happy with them and they were all a huge hit! Yes, I know the candle is backwards, but it still looks gorgeous right!?
See those amazing streamers on the wall? The giant ones that make a statement and are perfect for the cake smash background? Yeah, those are from Designed to the Max another little Etsy shop owned by Cassie, she was sweet enough to send me the perfect colors and sizes, all making a big ole splash on the wall. The kids all loved them and were enthralled with the way they looked, not to mention the adults loved them too!
Inspired By Alma was the shop behind the highchair banner, the straws and the confetti that was sprinkled on the table! Didn’t it add pop to the whole presentation? And what would a cake smash be without a highchair banner? Natalia is another wonderful woman who helped me create this wonderfully magical party.
The cake was from Mulberries Cake shop, a local business here in Denver and it was so delicious. THey took my ideas and created one of the most beautiful cakes I’ve ever seen!
I’m so happy with the way it all turned out. Everything from the balloons to the cake was perfect and exactly what I had in mind. I had such a hard time taking it all down after the party was over.
I owe a huge thank you to the shops who helped me create such a magical party and who are so creative in their talents. Also thank you to everyone who came, it wouldn't have been the same without you!
