The Obligatory 2017 New Years Resolutions

I seriously cannot believe it is already time to ring in a new year, I have no clue where the last year has gone, it completely slipped through my fingers. 2016 was an interesting year, one full of a lot of change, exciting adventures, some sadness, and a whole lot of crazy world events. I grew a lot, I started a business, grew my blog, grew into motherhood, and started off strong with my 2016 resolutions. Which brings me to today’s post: my 2017 resolutions. With the new year, resolutions are inevitable and what kind of a blogger would I be if I didn’t share them with you!? My resolutions last year were… semi-achieved. I wanted to spend less time on social media… didn’t do so great at that except for Facebook. I also wanted to declutter my life. I think I did, but I cannot be too sure with all the baby toys everywhere…

Anywho… onto a new year. I feel like my resolutions become redundant, or possibly even too vague. I always make them things that are forgettable too, so this year I’m going to mix it up and do something more fun for my resolutions. I’m picking three things, something fun, something new, and something productive to ring in 2017. Maybe, just maybe, if I add the something fun and something new I will be more likely to think about my resolutions and have something to work for.

When it comes to something fun, there is one thing that I have always wanted to be able to do, a stand-alone handstand. Yup, you read that right. This is something I’ve been working towards in my yoga practice but that I have yet to master. I don’t have faith that I can hold myself up, I am afraid of falling, and I don’t have the upper body strength to do it yet. But this year I WILL learn to do a handstand and gain that confidence.

For something new, I haven’t quite narrowed down what exactly this will be but I want to learn something new, or somethings new. I want to take a class to expand my photography or floral skills, and another to start learning a new language. Either sign language, Spanish, or French. If you could pick a language which one would you choose? I feel like I can be a better person for myself and for my family if I have more confidence, if I’m growing and learning. I can inspire my daughter and be better for her.

Something productive: well how about I start with being more productive in general! (Insert laughing emoji here) I want to be more productive in my day-to-day life, be more organized with blogging and schedules etc. I have a new planner that is aptly named the Hustle planner and I’m pretty excited to put this to use, I think it can really help me!

So there you have it, my 2017 New Year's Resolutions. Something new, something fun, and something productive. Ideas that will make me feel better about who I am, make me feel stronger and more confident in myself. Because who are we if we can’t believe in ourselves, feel confident, productive, or satisfied?! I would love to hear what all your resolutions are, so please leave a comment and share them with me!

I hope you all have a happy and safe New Year! xoxo
